Music on the Green Returns to Mariners’ Wharf for its 16th Season There’s nothing quite like summer evenings in Elizabeth City, the breeze off the river, the hum of conversation, and the sound of live music filling the air. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the return of a beloved local tradition: Music on the Green at Mariners’ Wharf, now celebrating its 16th year! Hosted by Elizabeth City Downtown, Inc., this free, family-friendly concert series brings together music lovers of all ages to enjoy the best of our vibrant waterfront and some seriously talented musicians. Concerts Every Tuesday in August & September Mark your calendars: the series kicks off on Tuesday, August 5th, and runs every Tuesday evening through September 23rd (with a rain date on September 30th). Concerts are held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mariners’ Wharf Park, located at 200 S. Water Street in the heart of Downtown Elizabeth City. The 2025 Lineup This year’s lineup is packed with local talent, musical variety, and soulful storytelling: August 5 – Bobby Plough y Dos Gringos Original acoustic storytelling infused with Texas country and Americana. August 12 – The Band Ryder with CC Dozier A funk, rock, and reggae powerhouse with roots in the Outer Banks. August 19 – Joel Taylor A soulful soloist and band blending hip-hop, jazz, rock, and reggae. August 26 – 100 Proof A family ensemble playing Americana, country, rock, and pop-soul. September 2 – John Stolarc Trio Alternative/alt-country originals and dynamic covers. September 9 – Connected Jazz ensemble showcasing the NE Albemarle region’s finest musicians. September 16 – Post-American Gothic Alternative rock with soulful vocals and conceptual songwriting. September 23 – The Bee Keepers A folk-alt husband-and-wife duo offering heartfelt originals and harmony-rich performances. September 30 – Rain Date What to Bring & What to Expect All you need is a lawn chair or blanket and maybe your dancing shoes. Even in the summer heat, there’s usually a welcome breeze off the Pasquotank River. Pack a picnic or stop by one of Downtown Elizabeth City’s restaurants, breweries, or sweet shops before or after the show. Coming into town? Make it an overnight stay!
